New location and new beginings
Pony Club is back up and running at the Tintaldra Recreation Reserve.
After a couple of hard years with the bushfires, covid and border closures, it’s been a tough slog for most pony clubs in the area. Unfortunately Upper Murray Pony Club do not have any members or a committee at present, so Jingellic Pony Club has put their hand up to move to the Tintaldra Recreation Reserve to help cater to the needs of those wishing to join in the Upper Murray area.
The club will also concentrate on getting the grounds up and running back to their former glory, after no activity there for last couple of years. There is a fair bit of work to do, but are confident they can get it looking pristine again over time. Even though it will be Jingellic Pony Club on the grounds, they will be keeping the spirit of the Upper Murray Pony Club alive, and in time the club may be able to start themselves again.
First rally will be held this Sunday 27th March at 10am. A sausage sizzle will be provided on the day, BYO drinks and snacks and chairs.
This will also run as a come and try day for those interested in seeing what Pony Club is all about, cost for the come and try is $25, which covers your insurance through the Pony Club Association, new memberships will also be accepted. Active kids vouchers can also be used for memberships.
Junior riders can join up to the age of 25, led riders welcome. PCANSW have also passed that riders over the age of 25 can join as an open rider, so adults who are looking for instruction and/or being able to ride with their children are welcome to attend.
Normally rallies will be held on the first Sunday of each month, apart from this first special date, and if enough interest is shown, the opportunity is there to also run on the 3rd Sunday of the month.

JPC Christmas End of Year Rally 2018
Jingellic Pony Club held their Christmas Break Up Party on Sunday. Jingellic invited members from Upper Murray and Holbrook Pony Clubs, who joined in the festive celebrations.
Riders dresses their ponies and horses up in Christmas Cheer and a great day was had by all, with fun ridden games to test the riders skill, with a great deal of laughter.
Family and friends gathered together for a BBQ and smorgasbord of salads and desserts at lunch time. With bellies full, a special guest, Santa arrived on horseback (with horse dressed as a reindeer).
Riders gathered around and Senior Instructor Peter Jenkins presented each member with a Certificate of Achievement, and Santa handed out gifts for all riders.
The members certificates were as follows;
Successful Competitor:
Ella and Ruby Scammell
Both young ladies have achieved high levels of riding outside of our club representing us and Zone 20 at State level, with excellent results. Ella also shows Club Spirit by volunteering herself to help her fellow peers on several occasions this year. Ruby approaches everything with a smile and quietness and a grit that even if she is worried about something she has a go.
Determination, Grit & Enthusiasm
Lachie Brooksby
After improving out of sight at the Zone 20 Camp in January, Lachie had an interrupted year with living away from the local area and his horse has been so very sick for most of the year. He has returned back to pony club this 2nd half of the year with determination, grit and enthusiasm as he strives to catch up again where he was at the beginning of the year. Lachlie has helped out at our fundraisers and at our gymkhana when he didn't ride.
Determined & Generous Rider
Hannah Wooden
Hannah is quiet, determined and generous (as she stepped up to another horse to allow Katie to ride and attend rallies). Hannah has always been ready to help out both at rallies and fundraisers.
Enthusiastic & Willing Rider
Katie Kellam
Katie was new to our club at the beginning of the year and has been unable to get back since the start. Despite her nervousness, she was willing and eager to participate.
Daniel Hawkins
Also new to our club at the beginning of the year, taking on his sisters horse whilst she was unable to ride. Daniel showed great enthusiasm and a willingness to give anything a go, despite never doing it before.
Improved Rider
Declan Shore
Declan has showed great determination along with persistence to put aside his fears and listen to instructions to enable him to step up onto his brother’s spirited horse Sharla. His confidence is now growing, and will be great to see the combination together after a full week of camp.
Scarlett Galvin
Scarlet is quiet with an eagerness to try and have a go. She too has stepped up onto a new horse and this year has seen her participate more and we are seeing her riding improve and her confidence grow.
Instructors Award
Henry Waters
Henry has participated enthusiastically at rallies, he follows instructions and shows a great deal of care and consideration to his horse and his fellow riders. He is going extremely well on his new horse and continues to improve.
Pony Club Spirit Award
Lauren Hawkins
Despite being unable to ride for majority of the year, this did not stop Lauren from still being a part of the club. She has maintained her enthusiasm, commitment and Spirit and has assisted the club throughout the year, at rallies, events and fundraising.
Presidents Award
Edward Waters
Edward had a great start to the year, but unfortunately was then unable to ride for the remainder of the year, however this did not stop his participation in any way he could. He is a member who consistently assisted where he could and supported the club and its activities.
Both Lauren and Edward are an inspiration, as even though life has thrown them a curve that required them to both miss a lot of time riding, they have maintained their enthusiasm, commitment and inspired us all with a spirit "Not to give up"
Their strong spirit and commitment to our club is what we all strive to achieve.
Newest Enthusiastic & Cheerful Rider
Chloe Kochanski
Chloe has just transferred to our club, and has attended numerous rallies with us now since October. She has fitted in quite well with all our riders with her cheerful and cheeky personality and is willing to give anything a go, and we look forward to getting to know Chloe better.
Holbrook Pony Club also did a presentation for their members.
Riders then went on a short trail ride and continued with more fun games such as apple bob, sack race and dress up race.
Gifts were given to Senior Instructor Peter Jenkins, and Instructors Trish Pratt and Marian Nelson, thanking them for their dedication in teaching the riders throughout the year. Jingellic Pony Club would also like to thank Santa for his visit and having a laugh with the children.
Riders will now be busy preparing their horses for the upcoming week long Zone 20 Camp held at Tumbarumba in January.
We wish all our members, and community a very happy and safe Christmas and New Year, and look forward to sharing the clubs news and successes for 2019.

JPC Annual Showjumping & Gymkhana Weekend 2018
Jingellic Pony Club hosted their annual Show jumping and Gymkhana event on the weekend. Saturday saw 42 riders compete in the AM3, AM5 and Take your own line Show jumping, ranging in grades from Intro through to C Grade.
Sunday, everyone was up bright and early for the start of the Gymkhana. 43 riders took part in the day, with ring events to begin with then on to sporting events. Jingellic paused their events at 11am to pay tribute to the Remembrance Day 100th Anniversary. It was a very special moment to have everyone in troupe line for The Last Post and Minute Silence to remember those that gave their tomorrows so we could have our today, Lest We Forget.
Each year at Jingellic’s Annual Event, the rider within the club having the fastest time in bending and flag race are awarded memorial medallions in honour of a very special young lady, Myra Murfett. This year both medallions went to Ella Scammell on her pony Ellie, well done.
Jingellic Pony Club would like to thank everyone in the club for helping run the two day event. Also to all those outside of the club who stepped up and gave us a hand leading up to and over the weekend, it was greatly appreciated. By the feedback the club has received, it was a well run successful weekend, congratulations to all.

Zone 20 Gymkhana held in Tumut 2018
Three representatives from Jingellic Pony Club attended the Annual Zone 20 Gymkhana on the weekend, hosted by Tumut Pony Club.
Ella and Ruby Scammell along with Declan Shore had a fantastic weekend competing in the riding and sporting events on Saturday where they all placed successfully in their events, with Declan receiving personal best times in Bending, Flag and 3 Mug races. Ella and Ruby formed with two members from another club and competed in the four over hurdles, this event takes a great deal of practice and skill to stay in formation whilst jumping. Sunday all three riders competed in the showjumping, which consisted of three different rounds of showjumping. Ella jumped well in B grade receiving a 2nd place and two 3rd places. Ruby competed in D Grade receiving a 1st place and 4th place. Declan had a great time competing in E grade with a large field of riders.
Members have been busy over the last month or so attending cross country clinics in Albury and Gymkhanas in the Zone 20 region.

Zone 20 Camp 2018
Jingellic Pony Club riders, Edward Waters, Lachlan Brooksby, Declan Shore, Hannah Wooden, Scarlett Galvin, Ella and Ruby Scammell, and Sarah White as the clubs outrider and yard person, had a fantastic week at the annual Zone 20 Pony Club Camp.
This year marked the 50th Anniversary for the camp, where a celebratory dinner was held on Friday night for past and present members who have attended camp over the last 50 years. Special guests in attendance were NSW State Pony Club President, Wayne Pernice, and Andrew Hoy’s parents, Jim and Dorothy Hoy who passed on Andrew’s best wishes. Together, life members Mavis Lucas, Robyn Hodges and Mary Crawshaw cut the Anniversary cake, and joined many members in reminiscing about past camps. Prior to the dinner a competition was held between past members/outriders and current riders at camp, in the Four over Hurdles challenge, after some very competitive riding, the challenge was taken out by Troop One girls. A Tent Pegging display was also held showcasing the very talented Australian Team.
92 riders were in attendance this year with 28 outriders, all participating in various disciplines including, Showjumping and Equitation, Dressage, Cross Country, Time Trials, Vaulting, Horsemanship, Lunging and Long Reining, Sporting, Challenges, Polo X, Mounted Games and Tent Pegging.
It is a huge week for all involved with children in dorms up at 6am feeding their ponies/horses, then out and about enjoying various disciplines after breakfast and again after lunch until 5pm where they get to enjoy some down time at the local swimming pool or games on the oval. Every parent also helps throughout the week in jobs to keep the camp running, without this help the camp would not be able to run, so huge thankyou to all that volunteer. Not to mention the dedication and tireless work from the volunteer organisers and also the catering staff who produce amazing meals every day.
Final day of camp is the much anticipated Street Parade and number off on the Showgrounds. Each year a rider with the highest points for sportsmanship and citizenship from each troop is awarded a bag of chaff, Congratulations to Lachlan Brooksby from Jingellic Pony Club taking out this prize from Troop 6.
Jingellic riders are now having a quick break before rallies start back up again in February, for another full, fun year of learning and competing.

It is tradition on a Friday evening to hold a talent show with performances from each club, and this year Jingellic Pony Club did not disappoint with a hilarious take on a Rodeo, many laughs were had.

All parents of riders also have jobs each day at camp to help keep everything running so it is a big week for all, and we thank our parents very much. Next year’s camp will be bigger and better than ever with celebrating the 50th year, plans are already underway, and our riders cannot wait to see what’s in store for them next year.

With the bad weather that has been upon us Jingellic managed to squeeze in a rally last weekend and was great to see 12 riders attend, with many members out for the football/Netball season or giving their horses a rest over winter, to practice their flat riding drills, Showjumping and Sporting.

Kergunyah Pony Club host and run this event which attracts hundreds of competitors from NSW and VIC, and entries continue to grow every year. Dressage was held on Saturday, Showjumping and then competitors lined up for the challenging Cross Country course on Sunday.
Emily Bell competed in Grade 2 Pony Club on Moxoon (Charlie) finishing the weekend in 4th place, Emily kept this placing right through from Dressage, then Showjumping and onto the Cross Country, where there were quite a few interesting and challenging jumps. Great results in a very competitive Grade.
Sophie Killalea rode Grade 3 Pony Club on Ripponlea Rubeene (Ruby). She completed a very competitive smooth dressage test with only 28 penalties, which at this point placed her 3rd in the event, then a nice round in Showjumping with only two rails down. Cross country was all clear until the water jump, Ruby just wasn’t sure about jumping into the water, so eliminated at this point.
Given it was Ruby’s first ever horse trials, and Sophie’s first attempt at Grade 3, a very credible result.
Ella Scammell competed in Grade 3 Pony Club for the first time, on her mount Buckwell Park Expose (Xpo), finishing 14th out of 30 plus riders, after a great Dressage test, good round of Showjumping with only dropping one rail then on to complete a clear cross country round. Excellent results for such a young competitor in Grade 3.

Fantastic achievements from all four riders and their mounts, congratulations.

Tent Pegging Rally Day
Jingellic Pony Club had a fantastic rally on the weekend, Terry Phillips an Australian/International Tent Pegger who is also the President of the Victorian Tent Pegging Association and has travelled all around the world competing in the Australian Team, along with his assistant Kelly Gallagher came and instructed the riders in the sport of Tent Pegging.
There were smiles on the faces of all the riders, thoroughly enjoying the experience, many of whom had never tried this discipline before. Tent Pegging competition involves riders charging at full gallop across a straight course 130-200m long, holding a Lance or a Sword. The weapon is used to pick up wooden or cardboard pegs stuck into the ground. Riders must cross the course at a designated time. Riders can compete as individuals, pairs or even as a team of four, which is spectacular to see.
There are several variations to the sport to add different challenges, including rings and pegs, lemons and rings and the balloon pistol jump challenge.
Tent Pegging is said to have originated from 326BC where cavalry soldiers used tent pegging as a battle tactic, they would ride through an enemy camp in pre dawn raids, removing the pegs from the tents with their spears. Foot soldiers could then attack the enemy as they struggled to get out of their collapsed tents.
Jingellic Pony Club would like to thank Terry and Kelly for this awesome opportunity for their riders.
Riders were also instructed on flat work, sporting, obstacle course and showjumping throughout the day.
Next rally will be on the 6th March were riders will be put through their paces leading up to the Zone Gymkhana the week after. There will also be a working bee to prep the ground for this event.Jingellic Pony Club extend a warm welcome to their newest members the Galvin Family, Scarlet had a great first rally.
Zone 20 Pony Club Camp 2016
Jingellic Pony Club had a fantastic time at Zone 20 Camp for 2016. Lucas and Declan Shore, Lily Murphy, Ella and Ruby Scammell, William, Julia and Lachlan Brooksby attended the week long camp in very hot conditions for the first few days and welcomed the cooler change later in week. A few milestones for our club, as this is Lucas’s final year of Camp and Declan and Lachlan’s first year.
Camp this year was slightly smaller than other years, with 80 riders, but was deemed a huge success non the less, everything ran very smoothly, and there was a happy and contented vibe through the camp.
All children gained valuable instruction from visiting instructors and Zone 20 instructors. Riders were split into 10 troops and participated in many different disciplines of riding such as, Showjumping and Equitation, Cross Country, Polocrosse, Dressage, 4 over hurdles, Troop Drills, Challenge course, Horsemanship, Sporting, Mounted Games, and a couple of favourites were Tent Pegging and Vaulting, as well as cooling off in the creek on those very hot days.
The Zone 20 camp committee did an amazing job throughout camp and kept everyone up to date, they were a lot of fun and had everything running like clockwork, camp would not run without the huge effort these volunteers put in leading up to and during camp, as well as the camp cooks who have everyone in camp fed like kings three times a day, job coordinators, Outriders and all other volunteers helping out and about.
After 25 years of being involved in Zone 20 camp, this was Zone Chief Instructor Ann Sutcliffe’s final year, Jingellic Pony Club wish her the very best for her future endeavours.
Riders came far and wide from Black Range, Corowa, Holbrook, Jindera, Tarcutta, Tumbarumba, Wirlinga, Jingellic, Jindabyne, Burra, Junee, Lake Albert, Leeton, Narrandera, The Rock, Wagga Bidgee and Wodonga. Words like awesome, best ever, can’t wait for next year were ringing through from all riders, from all clubs on the last day.
For the 48th year of Zone 20 camp, riders took part in a parade down the main street to end the week long camp led by the Tumbarumba pipes and drums. At the conclusion, presentation was made on the Showgrounds to those riders in each troop who gained points for best in troop over the week, from Jingellic Pony Club William Brooksby won the award for Troop 2, well done Will.
The very prestigious Rita and Keith Ferry Memorial Award was presented to Lucas Shore for his outstanding citizen and leadership attributes throughout camp, Congratulations Lucas.

Sophie Killalea recently competed at the Kergunyah Combined Training Event, winning her Grade 4 event, with a dressage score of 13 and clear round of Show Jumping, Sophie was thrilled to be awarded first place.

Riding with Success
Ella and Ruby Scammell, together with
Jacob Shore attended the Sarah Venamore Dressage Clinic hosted by Tumut Pony
Club. Sarah is an Internationally experienced horseperson and has fifteen years
experience as a NSW State Pony Club Dressage Coach and has written two
Equestrian Training books. Our Jingellic riders gained further knowledge and
skills that will assist them in their everyday riding practices as well as
dressage competitions. Declan Shore then joined the trio after the clinic, on the
Sunday for Tumut’s rally day where they practiced their Mounted Games skills
for the upcoming Zone Mounted Games to be held in August. Thankyou to Tumut
Pony Club for a great weekend.
Ella and Ruby have also been travelling around recently competing in Illabo at the Area 5 Jamboree under the Zone 20 banner, where they won the March Past. Ruby came 1st in her riding events and Ella came 2nd in hers with over 20 riders in each of their groups. Ella placed 3rd in her Dressage test, 5th in pairs and 2nd in fours, she then went on to win the AM5 Showjumping.
The Scammell sisters then travelled to Blackrange Pony Club for their Annual Showjumping Competition. The Shore brothers were entered to compete with them as a team, but a run of unfortunate circumstances prevented them from attending. Ruby enjoyed the day and jumped well in E Grade, Ella came 3rd in the Time, Fault and Out, and also 5th place in Topscore against a large field of D Grade riders.
Jingellic Pony Club received exciting news that they have won the July Pony Club of the Month through the HorseDeals magazine competition, receiving a $200 voucher which will go towards a first aid kit for horses to be kept on the grounds. There is also a full page feature article on Jingellic Pony Club in the latest Horse Down Under Magazine, which looks fantastic.
Jingellic continue to hold rallies where possible through winter and all members are looking forward to Spring and being in full competition mode again.

Zone 20 Gymkhana for 2015
Zone 20
Gymkhana was hosted by Jindera Pony Club on the 30th and 31st May2015 which consisted of ring
events followed by sporting and Sunday was show jumping, four over hurdles and
presentation. A small contingent of riders represented Jingellic Pony Club this
year, due to the timing and with football and netball in full swing, made it
hard for everyone to attend. Our 10 riders who represented the club may have
been lacking in numbers but certainly not in spirit and determination.
Natalijah Wooden, Layla Mclean, Kayla Horsley, Ruby and Ella Scammell, Lily Murphy, Hannah Jenkins, Declan, Lucas and Jacob Shore all performed to an outstanding level and all riders placed well in everything they went in.
Ruby and Ella Scammell as well as Lucas and Jacob Shore stayed over for the Show jumping on Sunday. Ruby competed in E Grade on her new pony and achieved the most improved award at the conclusion of her grade. Ella competed in D Grade also on a new horse, and completed a very nice personal best round of jumping in both the AM7 and Top Score in a large field of riders. Lucas competed in C Grade coming 4th in the AM7 and 2nd in Top Score. Jacob competed in B Grade and came 1st in AM7 and 2nd in the Top Score. Jacob then went on to compete in the Associates Team of four over hurdles with members from Black Range and Jindera Pony Clubs. This team completed a great round and came away with the Rochelle Semmler Memorial Trophy. Lucas was asked to lead a young team of Wirlinga riders who had never competed in the four over hurdles before, after teaching them what they needed to do, they went out to compete and were doing a great round until unfortunately the younger riders knocked a pole, but still managed to come away with 2nd place. It was great to see the sportsmanship and comradery Jingellic members showed to other clubs.
At the end of the weekend Jingellic Pony Club came home with the Pam Hillier Memorial Shield for the best average of the three fasted times for the Flag Race, the fastest times were Lily Murphy and Jacob and Lucas Shore. Jingellic also came home with the Twilight Memorial Shield for the rider from any club with the fastest time in the Bending Race, Lucas Shore took this out with an exceptionally fast time of 11.1 seconds.
Wirlinga Pony Club took out the major shields this year of highest point score in both junior and senior riders as they attended the event in large numbers. Jingellic were not in the running this year for the Zone 20 Shield for clubs with less than 25 financial members as their membership is at 30 riders now, this shield was awarded to Tumbarumba Pony Club.
It was a great end to a fantastic weekend, and all riders should be very proud of their achievements.

Jingellic Pony Club
members were very excited to hear the news this week that they have won Pony
Club of the Month through NSW Pony Club Australia, a competition in which is
open to all NSW Pony Clubs. Jingellic have won $600 worth of prices from
Horseland, $100 voucher from Australian Show Ribbons and will also feature in
the Horse Down Under Magazine as well as the NSWPCA Newsletter/Website. The
following is the winning article submitted for judging: Jingellic Pony Club, Zone 20
meets every first and third Sunday of the month at the picturesque Jingellic
Show Grounds on the mighty Murray River NSW. The club has been running for 2.5
years after being in recession for quite a few years and currently has approximately
24 riding members ranging in age from 3 to 19 and 22 non-riding members who are
our valued volunteers. The club offers instruction in the following
disciplines; Dressage, Show Jumping, Cross Country, Sporting, Mounted Games,
Horse Soccer and Horsemanship, just to name a few, as well as lessons in proper
horse care and safety. A typical rally day involves gear check with a 10am
start, troop drill warmups for both horse and rider and flat riding for the
morning. BBQ and group gathering for lunch, then mounting back up in the
afternoon for Show Jumping and Sporting. Other fundraising or social events run
at Jingellic Pony club include selling hot dogs at the annual Tumbarumba Races,
manning the gates at the Tumbarumba Rodeo and Jingellic Show, street stalls
selling sausage sizzles and home cooked goodies, and our annual Gymkhana held
in early November. The best thing about being a member of Jingellic Pony Club
is the lifelong friendships formed for both children and adults, our rally days
are always a lot of fun, and also the great sportsmanship the Jingellic riders
show at all events and rallies they attend, this makes the club very proud.
Last Sunday Jingellic members joined Upper Murray Pony Club for a rally day and a great day was had by all.
Members are now working on their horses fitness as the calendar of events is filling up fast for the next few month.

Tumbarumba Pony Club Gymkhana 2015
Eight members of Jingellic Pony Club, Angel and Kayla
Horsley, Jacob, Lucas and Declan Shore, Jackson White, Layla Maclean and
Natalijah Wooden had a great day competing at the Tumbarumba Pony Club Gymkhana
on Sunday.
It was wonderful to see Angel and Kayla’s confidence grow, placing in majority of events and riding under Jingellic Pony Club’s banner for the first time. The led under 7 group with Jackson, Layla and Natalijah, all had a great time in the games, especially the apple and straw which always seem to be a favourite, and all came away with ribbons and Natalijah achieving her personal best by placing first in some of the sporting. Declan competed for the first time off lead in under 7, placing in all events with a huge smile. Lucas took along his new horse to expose him to new things, and ended up having an excellent day winning and placing in the sporting. Jacob placed in all sporting and competed in his first B grade Showjumping competition after recently being upgraded and had a very nice round in first place.

Rally News for February 2015
Jingellic
Pony Club held their Open Day/Rally day on Sunday 15th February 2015,
with a great turnout of members and guests.
A few new interested families from around the area arrived for the open day along with Sally and Lila Woods from America who came to see what Pony Club in Australia was all about, Sally’s mum, Shirley Cheshire also joined them.
Special guests from the Jingellic Show Society, Ace and Sue Couglan, and Steve McHarg and Partner Merrilee enjoyed watching the older riders perform troop drill in the morning whilst the younger riders practiced their balance and general riding skills through a series of exercises and trotting poles.
A BBQ lunch and a smorgasbord of desserts were enjoyed by all, before mounting up again in the afternoon where the younger riders practised their sporting techniques and the older members began Showjumping. Riders were excited to try out the new jumps that have just arrived from Southern Sport horses. The club would like to thank Walwa Community Shop for kindly donating money towards jump rails and personalised plank set which look brilliant. Zone 20 donated $500 and the Jingellic Pony club worked hard on fundraising to purchase jump planks so that when put together they look like a brick wall. These jumps are fantastic for both horses and riders to experience jumps that look a little different to what they are normally used to. Thankyou also to Laurie McGill and Wani Dugdate for donating jump poles. This community help has allowed Jingellic Pony Club to obtain a very professional looking jump course when all set up, and can’t wait to show it off at their next competition.
On Sunday 1st February, Jingellic Pony Club went on a joint trail ride with some members from Upper Murray Pony Club. Riders left the Jingellic Show Grounds and followed the River road until Noel and Megan Daly’s property, where they enjoyed a swim in the river with their horses and a relaxing BBQ lunch before heading back. For our younger riders, this was their very first trail ride and also first time swimming with their ponies, their faces were beaming with excitement. Huge Thankyou to Noel and Megan for allowing the Pony Club on to their property, it was a fantastic spot.
Riders are now looking forward to upcoming competitions, including Gymkhanas, shows and Showjumping events.
Jingellic Pony Club would like to welcome new members Raymond, Charelle, Angel and Kayla Horsley.

Christmas Break Up rally - 14-12-2014
The Club's last rally for the year was held on
Sunday 14th December 2014. An official photo in full uniform was first on the agenda for members
followed by a lot of fun with Christmas games including our own version of Jousting.
Water pistols replaced the jousting sticks and each rider had to aim at a
target on the chest of their opponent. It was certainly the days highlight and
a lot of laughs had. A game of horse soccer was also played as well another new version of the billy can race with a lot of riders (and instructor's) getting wet. Riders also
practiced pairs and show jumping. A BBQ lunch and a smorgasbord of dessert was
enjoyed by all members and special guest Ann Sutcliffe Zone Chief Instructor
and her family.
Riders are now preparing their horses for the upcoming Zone 20 Camp held in January.
Merry Christmas to all and a safe and Happy New Year.

Sarah Woodhouse Clinic & State ODE September 2014
Jingellic Pony Club members have had a busy few weeks, with supporting the Jingellic Show Society in their annual open gymkhana, attending clinics and preparing for State One Day Event.

Instruction was given from Sarah Woodhouse on One Day Events hosted by Culcairn Pony Club. Our riders were instructed on flat and grid work, show jumping and Cross Country, concentrating on ditches and water jumps. Zone 20 riders did extremely well with majority finishing in the top 10 in their respective age groups.

End of 2013 Celebrations
Jingellic Pony Club members have been busy over the last few weeks with rallies, clinics and Certificate testing.
Our rallies have been great fun, with practicing for their certificates and fine tuning their riding skills with an assortment of exercises, as well as introducing their mounts to horse soccer, some horses were unsure of the ball at first, but once they had a look and a sniff, were pushing the ball around the showground like pro’s.
Seven members travelled to Holbrook on the 1st of December for their Certificate testing, Ella Scammell and Julia Brooksby completed their D and D* certificates, while Lily Murphy, Will Brooksby, Lucas Shore and Bridget Waters completed their C Certificates and Jacob Shore completed his C and C* Certificate
The Clubs final rally for the year and Christmas break up party was held on Sunday, where our members were gear checked for the upcoming 2014
Zone 20 Camp. Having their horses dressed up in Christmas cheer and parading around the oval, riders concentrated on some drills and had more fun with the horse ball, while the young riders enjoyed Christmas themed sporting events. Certificate presentation was held at the end of the day.
Our members enjoyed some antics on their horses, a festive BBQ and their mud sliding into the creek.
Thank you to all members for contributing towards the BBQ and the amazing salads and decadent desserts on offer. Thank you to Marylou Hodges, Ann and Amy Sutcliffe from Zone 20 for joining us for our end of year celebration.
Riders will now be busy preparing their horses for Camp in January and then the new season of events for 2014.

December 2012
Jingellic Pony Club held its last rally for the year on Sunday.
Members enjoyed a morning of flat work riding, concentrating on lengthening strides in trot without rushing and then some special Christmas games, such as a new take on the tuck shop race, where riders grabbed a Santa sack off a drum, rode down to where there were presents to be put into the sack. They also had to wrap tinsel around themselves, jump back onto their horses and ride home as fast as they could, and instead of egg and spoon race it was the Christmas bauble and spoon race, as well as hide and seek Christmas decorations with their horses.
A Christmas feast was next on the agenda for the afternoon, under the beautiful big shady trees at the Jingellic Show Grounds, where the children
also enjoyed a cool down in the creek.
Jingellic Pony Club would like to thank The Zone Chief Instructor, Marylou Hodges, for visiting and enjoying lunch with all the members. And also to the Jingellic Show Society for keeping the ground in immaculate condition and for allowing the Club to hold rallies there.
A very special visitor arrived after lunch, thank you Santa for taking the time out of your very busy schedule at this time of year to visit the children and hand out lolly bags for all.
Members also had their gear check for the upcoming Zone 20 Camp in early January, and are reminded to keep riding over the Christmas break to
keep their ponies/horses fit and gear all clean and ready to go for camp.
A gathering was held on the 2nd December, where riders were treated with a guest instructor, Bonnie McIntyre, Level 2*Parelli Professional . Bonnie shared with the children and their parents the basic concepts of Parelli Natural horsemanship and how we can cause our horses to want to do things for us using a natural approach. With the younger group Bonnie did some exercises to help them be safer while handling their ponies. Also had an open Q & A which led revolved around lots of common problems which are encountered with horses. It was fantastic for the children to experience something a little different to what they have been doing in Pony Club, and we thank Bonnie very much for coming down.
More information can be found on Bonnie’s website http://bonniemcintyre.com/main/page_home.html
After some investigating, it has been discovered that the Jingellic Pony Club was originally founded in the late 1950’s, early 1960’s, at the beginning of the Pony Club movement in Australia and we apologise for the information provided in an earlier article that the Club had a fairly recent
history. Any further information that people may have in relation to the Clubs early activities and membership would be of great interest to its newest
members.
Jingellic Pony Club would like to wish all members and families a safe and very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and look forward to
regrouping after the holidays.
