Pink Ribbon Day Fundraiser 2015
Enthusiastic members of the Jingellic Pony Club held a successful Pink Ribbon Fundraiser on Sunday 4th October 2015.
Many members dressed in pink, and dressed their horses and ponies to help raise awareness and funds for women’s cancers. Prizes for the best dressed junior and senior were kindly donated by Madgwick Lodge, Layla Maclean won the best dressed junior while Emily Waters won best dressed senior.
During the course of the day, members participated in their usual training activities along with holding some games and events that added to the fun, such as apple bob to cool the riders off, balloon water pistol race and pushing the extra-large pink horseball around.
The Instructors and parents even turned up in pink with 21 members riding on the day, and also riding families from neighbouring clubs and come try day riders joined in the fun.
There was a myriad of pink cakes and slices for sale, baked and donated by the parents and friends of the club, as well as a BBQ Lunch.
Jingellic Pony Club raised over $300 which will go towards vital cancer research and to help beat women’s cancers. Everyday in Australia around 50 women are diagnosed with breast or gynaecological cancer, and every donation helps to make a real difference in the fight against a disease that touches us all.
Thankyou to all the members of Jingellic Pony Club, families and friends and visiting members that made our day a great success. JPC are planning on making this an Annual Event and will hopefully make it bigger and better each year and raise even more funds for cancer research.
